Welcome to Joshua's Place

Welcome! This site has been a part of my digital footprint since the early 2000s, serving as a time capsule for the early chapters of my adult life. While I keep this space online as a reflection of where I started, my journey has evolved quite a bit since this site was last updated.

Wictory Wednesday

Wictory Wednesday 9/22/2004 Florida. President Bush has a much better chance of winning it than he did in 2000. But we can improve his chances even more, make the state a lock, and replace a Democrat senator from Florida this year. Mel Martinez is the Republican candidate for Senate from Florida. He’s a Cuban-American immigrant success story, who will help the president attract a larger share of the Hispanic vote. If Martinez wins, he’ll be replacing the notoriously nutty…

Many Groups Come Out Against John Kerry

Many Groups Come Out Against John Kerry 9/19/2004 There are so many veterans that are getting together and organizing into groups in order to get the facts out about John Kerry’s real war record, that it becomes clear that there must be some really outrageous things that Kerry does not want voters to know. For all these people to form independent groups, and come forward with their stories about Kerry’s record, it is simply amazing. It boggles the mind!…

New World Trade Center Plans

New World Trade Center Plans 2/27/2003 A plan has been chosen for the new World Trade Center Towers. They chose a design that I think looks very classy. You can see a slideshow of the plans that were chosen here. The site has been rather busy today, so you may have to try again later if it does not load the first time. More on the selection at MSNBC. Yours truly, Joshua Clinard @ 11:05 pm …

Lectureship Wrap-up

Lectureship Wrap-up 2/27/2003 Most of our catering events went pretty smooth this year. There was one event, The President’s Circle that turned out to be a nightmare, because the beef was bloody red. The Chef got a lot of flak for that. I was lucky to be serving another party, so I didn’t have to deal with all the returned plates. The next night, the beef was so well done, that no one could complain about it not being…

Lectureship Begins!

Lectureship Begins! 2/20/2003 Lectureship begins tomorrow morning. I will be working at least 14 hours daily for the next 7 days. Some days I will start at 8 AM, and work until 1 AM. Other days I will go in as early as 5 AM, and stay until 11 PM. Needless to say I will be very tired after Lectureship is over. All the overtime pay will come in handy. Yours truly, Joshua Clinard @ 10:52 pm …

The Music Man premieres on ABC

The Music Man premieres on ABC 2/14/2003 ABC’s The Wonderful World of Disney presents The Music Man this Sunday. I love this movie, and welcome the remake. Disney usually does a pretty good job with their musical re-makes. Professor Harold Hill is played by Matthew Broderick in this incarnation. We will have to see how his performance is, but I think he definitely has the look. Yours truly, Joshua Clinard @ 6:57 pm …

I-Toilet

I-Toilet 2/14/2003 If you have not yet seen the iToilet, do take a look. It is a hilarious spoof at Apple, and specifically the iMac. There are quite a few jokes that will only make sense if you are familiar with Apple. It’s a good thing I worked at the Campus Store! Yours truly, Joshua Clinard @ 1:23 pm …

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day 2/14/2003 Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I had a pretty good day at work today. We sold Chocolate covered strawberries to the students of ACU. I had a good time putting the strawberries into their little containers. Sadly, I only got to eat a few that were made yesterday, not the “fresh” ones. I did buy some fresh ones for my mother though. She said they were delicious. Yours truly, Joshua Clinard @ 10:00 am …

Filing Taxes Online

Filing Taxes Online 2/13/2003 I was surfing the IRS web site, and I noticed that you can file a tax return for previous years. Since I didn’t file last year, I am going to file for 2001 and 2002 this year. I will probably use one of the free e-file services listed on the IRS web site. There is no penalty for filing late. The extra money will come in handy. Yours truly, Joshua Clinard @ 8:35 pm …

Secret Admirer Rant!

Secret Admirer Rant! 2/10/2003 I have a story that I would like to tell, along with a piece of advice about boy/girl relationships. Last week, a girl I have been chatting with on instant messenger asked me to call a boy that she had a crush on. She asked me to tell him that she liked him. I thought it would be fun, so I decided to take her up on it. I also like to see people get…
