Welcome to Joshua's Place

Welcome! This site has been a part of my digital footprint since the early 2000s, serving as a time capsule for the early chapters of my adult life. While I keep this space online as a reflection of where I started, my journey has evolved quite a bit since this site was last updated.

LTC Convention a Success!

LTC Convention a Success! 4/19/2003 We got home from LTC earlier today. My puppet group did pretty well, in spite of a loudspeaker announcement at the hotel during our performance. We won’t know if we won any awards until later tomorrow. We will also be performing next Sunday at Southern Hills! This was my first year at LTC, and although it was not as much of an event as I consider Lads to Leaders to be, I had a…

Almost Time for LTC Trip!

Almost Time for LTC Trip! 4/18/2003 Later this morning I have to leave for Dallas, because I’m going to LTC this weekend. The convention is at the Anatole Hotel, but we will be staying at the Days Inn. I’m coaching puppets this year, and it’s going quite well, even though we got off to a late start. I am hoping we can have a few more run-throughs at the hotel tomorrow night, before our performance Saturday morning. I have…

Trouble Registering for Classes!

Trouble Registering for Classes! 4/18/2003 I attempted to register for classes at TSTC today, but ACU will not release my transcript until my billing hold is cleared. Unfortunately the organization that agreed to give me a scholarship did not pay for my tuition for the last semester I took. I’ll have to call them next week and find out what the hold up is. Yours truly, Joshua Clinard @ 1:09 am …

Purchased New Receiver!

Purchased New Receiver! 4/16/2003 I just purchased a new receiver this weekend, and hooked it up to the rest of our home theater system, so we finally have Dolby Digital surround sound in our home. I am very happy with my purchase, and I have been enjoying re-watching a few of the films in my DVD collection with better sound. Now we just need some new speakers, because our current ones fizzle if they are turned up too loud.…

Revoke Michael Moore’s Oscar

Revoke Michael Moore’s Oscar 4/16/2003 It just came to my attention that the Oscar Michael Moore received for the film Bowling for Columbine was awarded to piece of work that is not even a documentary, but rather a work of fiction. There are many things that were changed to fit his Anti-American agenda. The Academy’s own rules state that they cannot give an award to a film in the documentary category if the film is not factual. To see…

Happy Valentine’s Day

Fri, February 14, 2003 Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I had a pretty good day at work today. We sold Chocolate covered strawberries to the students of ACU. I had a good time putting the strawberries into their little containers. Sadly, I only got to eat a few that were made yesterday, not the “fresh” ones. I did buy some fresh ones for my mother though. She said they were delicious. I was not able to make it to the…

Life Updates

Thu, February 13, 2003 I’ve been pretty busy this week. I found a roommate the other day, and I am going to move in this Saturday. It’s not the apartment that I really wanted, but it will do. It’s small, but it has a decent-sized bedroom, which is big enough for two people, and it’s very close to campus. It will come in handy during lectureship. I was surfing the IRS web site, and I noticed that you can…

Going Back to School!

Going Back to School! 3/23/2003 I have decided that I’m not going back to ACU. It’s just too expensive, and their program isn’t what I need to learn best. As much as I will miss my friends, and the wonderful Christian envirnment, I will most likely go to Texas Tech instead, since they have a better curriculum for their Digital Media program. It’s a more hands on approach that what ACU has, which is more theory based. Larry Sanders,…

Coaching Puppets for LTC

Coaching Puppets for LTC 3/23/2003 I found out Wednesday that our church will be doing puppets this year for Leadership Training for Christ. I had volunteered to be the puppet coach earlier this year, but they really waited till the last minute to make the final decision to go ahead with the event. The convention is in just four weeks, so we don’t have much time to practice. My team has three 8th graders, one 6th grader, and one…

Verry Little Catering Events Lately

Verry Little Catering Events Lately 3/23/2003 Because of Spring Break, there hasn’t been many catering events for two weeks now, but I have been pretty busy with other tasks. I haven’t had much time to post because our phone line has not been working well for the past week, and connecting to the Internet from home has been a major pain! Yours truly, Joshua Clinard @ 3:27 pm …
