This morning I visited an Atlas Missile Base. It was one of the many bases used in the early 60’s, and their existence is one of the main reasons that the Russians feared us during the Cold War. The bases were shutdown in 1963. They were replaced by minutemen missiles soon after. Yesterday, the Senate approved the Partial Birth Abortion ban. According to MSNBC, it will be another month or so before the House has a chance to vote on it. Once approved, it will be signed by President Bush before it lands on his desk. And it will be approved, since Republicans have control of the House. I have recently purchased a few DVD’s. The latest additions are Tuck Everlasting, and Jonah: A Veggie Tales Movie. Both are good movies, and excellent DVD’s. I recently stated listening to Rush Limbaugh’s show, and I really love it. He always hits the nail right on the head. If you like politics, you should try to catch him. Most of our catering events went pretty smooth this year. There was one event, The President’s Circle that turned out to be a nightmare, because the beef was bloody red. The Chef got a lot of flak for that. I was lucky to be serving another party, so I didn’t have to deal with all the returned plates. Lectureship begins tomorrow morning. I will be working at least 14 hours daily for the next 7 days. Some days I will start at 8 AM, and work until 1 AM. Other days I will go in as early as 5 AM, and stay until 11 PM. Needless to say I will be very tired after Lectureship is over. All the overtime pay will come in handy. …
