U. N. Oil For Food Scandal

U. N. Oil For Food Scandal
4/22/2003

Fox News reported yesterday that the money generated from the Oil for Food program was not used to deliver relief to the Iraqi people, but to line the pockets of the members of the United Nations, and to benefit the Saddam Regime. Saddam used the money to purchase things like 200 airplanes, boats, television camera’s and broadcast equipment, television sets, and DVD’s to name a few. He also used the money to build things like a sports stadium! None of these things were used to benefit the Iraqi people. They were purchased to make life more luxurious for members of the Baath party. It was also noted that UN officials running the program got a 2% kickback on every barrel of oil sold. The story is not on the Fox News web site; it was reported on a special report on the Fox News Channel last night. It is time for the sanctions against Saddam and the Oil for Food program to end, and for the Iraqis to sell their own oil, to benefit their economy! Now we know why the French, the Germans and the Russians were against the war with Iraq. They did not want the Oil for Food program to end, because they were making lots of money from it.
