Leaving for Boot Camp

Dear Friends,

I have recently enlisted in the United States Navy, and I ship off to Basic Training tommorrow morning. Basic Training lasts for nine weeks, so I would like to ask all of you to keep me in your prayers during this time of academic learning and physical training. The reasons I joined the Navy are many. The most important is my love for this country. Too many people disrespect this country’s men and women that are fighting for our freedom. I wanted to do a little more than just pay lip service like so many do. I also joined the Navy because I will be able to learn technical and leadership skills. Over the last ten years, I have grown tired of working for companies that don’t treat people as human beings. I know that in the Navy, if I perform the job well, I will be paid accordingly, and I know I will be elegible for advancement based on that performance. That was not the case with many of the companies I have worked for during the last ten years. So, in about two months time, I will be a proud Navy Seaman. After basic training, I will leave for submarine school. I am training to be a Sonar Technician, or a Fire Control Technician. I will not be able to use the computer during Basic, so I just wanted to let you all know I won’t be able to read or reply to any messages.

Yours truly, Joshua Clinard @ 6:47 pm no responses.
