Why I support the Fair Tax
10/18/2005
After the President’s Tax reform panel spent months reviewing many tax reform plans, all they have managed to come up with is adding even more complication to the current tax code by raising taxes on housing! That’s outrageous! Why can’t they recommend adopting real tax reform! Out of the thousands of comments from real citizens on the Request For Comments section of the Tax Reform Panel web site, over 90% support the fair tax! Why? It is not that complicated. I’ll tell you why.
1. It is the only tax plan that completely untaxes the poor.
2. It taxes everyone the same, including people who make lots of money selling drugs, bootleg DVD’s and other illegal items on the black market.
3. It raises the same amount of money, if not more than the current tax code.
4. It gives Americans more freedom, because it allows them to keep their entire paycheck.
5. It eliminates the fear of being audited.
6. It does not raise prices on goods, as some has speculated In fact, prices may decrease under the plan over time.
7. It greatly reduces the 300-600 billion a year the government spends on collecting taxes each year, which will free up funds for social security, and paying off the national debt.
8. It eliminates corporate loopholes that will keep companies from outsourcing jobs to avoid paying taxes.
9. It will save people millions of hours of filling out tax forms, which will in turn save them millions of dollars in tax preperation fees.
10. It will disband the IRS. Need I say more?
There are many more reaons to support H. R. 25, but these are just a few of the ones that people will realize that you are taking away from them when it comes to deciding who to vote for in Nov. 2006.
