Social Security Problem Must Be Fixed Before it Goes Bankrupt
2/3/2005
Many democrats I have spoken with, even moderate ones, strongly object to the President’s plan to overhaul social security. They say that it is not a problem, or that the President’s plan won’t fix it. Well the RNC has put together a Fact Page that will debunk every social security myth propegated by the democrat party. The people I have spoken with also cite that they hate Bush, and that they hope democrats counter his social security agenda. My question to you is, what will they counter it with? I have yet to hear an elected democrat offer any solution other than the few that President Bush mentioned in his speech. And those ideas are not being accepeted by the democrat party. I don’t think the President’s plan is a total solution myself. I think that 4% is not nearly enough. I think it needs to be as high as 50% if it is to work. But there are other methods that could be an effective solution. But if the democrats think that this newly elected congress is going to sit on it’s laurels and do nothing to fix the problem, they are sadly mistaken. Something must be done. Republicans are the party of results. Democrats are the party of emotion. They say, we want to help the poor, downtrodden, ect. But if their social programs don’t achieve desired results, they must be reformed until they do achieve restults.
