Iraqi Election a Success
1/30/2005
At least8 million people voted in the first Iraqi election in over 50 years. That’s close to 60% of the eligble voters. That’s actually a higher percentage than the United States has ever achieved. I think that really says something about humans everywhere. It says to me, that everyone, regardless of ethnic origin, religion, or geographic location, has a strong desire for freedom. And these Iraqi’s actually risked their lives to go out and vote. It’s an amazing display of patriotism.
Update: I normally wouldn’t link to the Old York Times, but they have an excellent slideshow that sums up the events of today.
Update: A democrat wonders if Bush has been right all along. I am sure there are other dems that are thinking the same thing right now.
